Brian Riemer pulled several rabbits out of his hat when he announced the Danish squad for the upcoming Nations League matches against Portugal
Quite surprisingly Victor Froholdt and Lucas Hogsberg, who have starred as great revelations in the Danish Superliga during the spring season, were included in the squad.
In addition it was also also surprising that Chelsea's Filip Jorgensen and Conrad Harder from Sporting Lissabon were selected.
Surpassing Zlatan Ibrahimovic's goalscoring record in Ligue 1 made Mika Biereth an obvious choice for the squad.
Until the selection, it has been heavily debated whether he would choose to play for Denmark, Bosnia, Germany or England, and now it it seems clear that the 22-year-old front runner will make himself available for the two matches against Portugal.
Alexander Bah and Kasper Dolberg as well as Yussuf Poulsen were not available because of injuries. Andreas Christensen, who Riemer considers to be an extremely important player, has been out almost the entire season.
In total, there are 23 names in the national team squad, which will face Portugal over two matches on 20 - and 23 March.
