Cristiano Ronaldo on Saturday, 24 hours before the return leg of the Nations League quarter-final against Denmark, gave his reaction to the fact that Rasmus Hojlund copied the Portuguese star's infamous celebration scene when he scored Denmark's match winner in Copenhagen in the first leg on Thursday.

"It's no problem for me. I know it wasn't out of disrespect. It is not only him who makes my jubilant scene around the world."

"I'm smart enough to understand that. For me it is an honor. I hope to do it in front of him tomorrow (Sunday, ed.). It will be good. I'm glad he likes my cheering scene. It will be another match. Denmark was far better than us on Thursday, but we have put it behind us and looking forward to another match", said Ronaldo to the Danish media before tomorrow's match.

When Hojlund was asked to explain the reason for his celebration on Thursday, he said:

"It's for my idol. It wasn't because I wanted to mock him or anything. He has been so important to me and my football career. It might be a bit ambivalent, but to score against him and Portugal, that's huge."

"I remember him scoring a free kick in 2009, when I in the stadium to watch the match, and since then I have been a huge Cristiano fan", said Rasmus Hojlund.

Denmark will face Portugal in the return leg on Sunday evening.
