Together, Heliovaara and Patten have reached the Third Round of the men's doubles without dropping a set, and though the Finn and Kazakh were sixth seeds for the mixed event, that counted for nothing against the British duo.
Patten and Nicholls began well and broke serve in the first game, needing two break points to do so.
Heliovaara and Danilina saved set point off their own serve in the ninth game, but they could not contain the momentum of their opponents, who took the first set 6-4.
The Helsinki man and his partner were forced into saving two break points in the first game of the second set, but could not manage to do the same when serving in game three.
The next eight games all went with serve - but only narrowly on many occasions - before Heliovaara and Danilina not only saved match point, but broke back in the 10th game to level at 5-5.
That became 6-6, forcing a tiebreak, in which Patten and Nicholls were relentless, winning every point to win 7-0 in the tiebreak, 7-6 in the set and 2-0 in the match.
The British pair move on to the Quarter-finals, awaiting to discover their opponents as of yet.
Heliovaara and Patten will be back on the same side of the court tomorrow in their Third Round match against India's Rohan Bopanna and the Czech Republic's Adam Pavlasek.
