Clara Tauson against all odds managed to advance to the next round of the big ATP 1000 tournament in Rome after beating World No 9, Emma Navarro, in three sets - 6-3, 0-6, 4-6.
The American otherwise got off to a flying start and put pressure on the Dane, when she secured the first set in dominant fashion 6-3.
But Clara Tauson turned up the heat in the second set, where she completely put Navarro on the back foot and forced her from side to side on the baseline and mixed it up with creative dropshots.
Tauson did not allow Navarro a single game in the second set and so went into the final set high on confidence. And even though Navarro recovered a bit of her normally stylish game, she couldn't prevent Tauson from wrapping up the set 6-4.
In the round of 16, Tauson will face another top 10 player, Mirra Andreeva, who beat Linda Noskova 6-1, 7-5
