Holger Rune's mother and agent, Anneke Rune, blames the Danish government for not doing enough to get stranded Danes in the Middle East out of the implicated countries.

The Danish tennis star Holger Rune is currently stranded in Doha, where he is trying to get back to full fitness at the Aspetar sports hospital after his serious Achilles' tendon injury.

All flight departures in the Middle East have been cancelled because of the war between Iran, the USA, and Israel. This means that Holger Rune, like thousands of other Danes, is trapped in the desert states.

Several European countries, including Great Britain, have announced evacuation plans for their citizens, but the Danish government has yet to react.

"We want to get out. But we still haven't heard anything from Denmark. It is disappointing. Either we are completely paralyzed in our country, or they are just p..... off with their citizens. I think of the latter," she says, and continues:

"Why don't they reach out and ask where we are? Or give a number you can call around the clock? "What are they working on? A military plane that comes to collect all Danes? Or what are they working on? Then they must disclose it, so that Danes do not themselves have to sit and spend hours researching alternatives, options, and car hire across the border to get out of Qatar", she says to bt.dk

Holger Rune and his set crew are hoping to fly to Los Angeles, where Rune allegedly has sponsor obligations at the Indian Wells tournament.
