08:40 CET - Right, players are finally heading onto the outside courts in Wuhan as the powers that be have decided that the temperature has gone down enough. Game on!

07:50 CET - Welcome back to the Tennis Tracker this Thursday morning, as we begin to enter the business end of the 1000 events in Asia.

Incredibly, due to the searing temperatures that have been crippling players all week in China, play is paused on the outside courts in Wuhan. However, there is one result to catch you up on, as Jessica Pegula won a thrilling contest against Ekaterina Alexandrova 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.

Currently on court is three-time defending champion Aryna Sabalenka, who is taking on Liudmila Samsonova.

Coming up in the coming hours are several really great clashes with Jasmine Paolini facing Clara Tauson, the in-form Linda Noskova coming up against Elena Rybakina, Iga Swiatek taking on Belinda Bencic and Coco Gauff meeting Shuai Zhang. Of course, a lot will depend on whether conditions improve.

Over in Shanghai, there are a pair of quarter-final matches to look forward to, as Holger Rune takes on surprise package Valentin Vacherot, and four-time champion Novak Djokovic clashes with Zizou Bergs.
