The first round continues on day two at Wimbledon as one of the greatest players of all time, Novak Djokovic, is first up on centre as his campaign begins, before British number one Jack Draper headlines action on court one.

23:57 ET - That's that for a truly extraordinary opening round of this year's tournament, with 22 of the 64 seeds out already, including four of the top 10 on both the men's and women's sides of the draw!

23:37 CET - A day full of surprises has had a more predictable ending, with Novak Djokovic stepping up his game to see out a 6-1, 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 victory over Alexandre Muller.

He may have dropped a set, but he'll be pleased with that performance.

22:10 CET - Gael Monfils, the oldest man in the main draw, has beaten compatriot and 18th seed Ugo Humbert in a five-set epic, winning 6-4, 3-6, 6-7, 7-5, 6-2 in four hours.

Thirteen seeds in the men's draw have now been knocked out in the opening round, which is a joint record! 

22:02 CET - The women's world number two is out! Coco Gauff has been beaten 7-6, 6-1 by the unseeded Dayana Yastremska!

21:56 CET - This crazy day just keeps getting crazier. Djokovic has lost the second set 7-6 after failing to take two set points, while Gauff is now a set and a break down.

21:38 CET - In the penultimate women's match of the day, former world number one Victoria Azarenka has been beaten 6-2, 2-6, 6-1 by qualifier Anastasia Zakharova.

There could be another shock in the final one, with French Open champion Coco Gauff a set down.

21:14 CET - 2022 champion Elena Rybakina has claimed a dominant 6-2, 6-1 win over Elina Avanesyan.

20:45 CET - Novak Djokovic has come flying out of the blocks, taking the first set against Alexandre Muller 6-1 in 38 minutes.

20:20 CET - British number one and fourth seed Jack Draper has cruised through with opponent Sebastian Baez retiring while trailing 6-2, 6-2, 2-1.

Grigor Dimitrov, Ben Shelton and former runner-up Marin Cilic have also advanced with a straight-sets win, while young talent Jakub Mensik has prevailed in four.

20:00 CET - The highest male seed to get knocked out on this opening round of upsets comes in the way of world number three Alexander Zverev, who has been defeated in a five-set epic against Arthur Rinderknech.

The big-hitting Frenchman won 7-6 (7-3), 6-7 (8-10), 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4.

19:18 CET - Italian tennis is enjoying a golden age, and one of the top talents on tour is youngster Flavio Cobolli.

The 23-year-old displayed exactly why in his opening round match as he cruised past Beibit Zhukayev in less than two hours, winning 6-3, 7-6 (9-7), 6-1

18:33 CET - Mirra Andreeva and Emma Navarro have both advanced, with the latter beating two-time champion Petra Kvitova 6-3, 6-1 in the Czech veteran's final appearance at the tournament.

17:48 CET - Maria Sakkari and Daniele Collins have both made it through in straight sets.

The next star to take to the court, at 18:30 CET, will be a Serb by the name of Novak. It's fair to say he's done okay at the All England Club over the years.

17:39 CET - Top players are falling by the wayside all around her, but Iga Swiatek has survived, securing a 7-5, 6-1 win over Polina Kudermetova in just over an hour. She played some really good stuff in the second set, which lasted just 24 minutes.

17:27 CET - The surprises just keep on coming, with Olympic champion Qinwen Zheng losing 7-5, 4-6, 6-1 to Katerina Siniakova.

Halle champion Alexander Bublik is also out, suffering a 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 defeat to Jaume Munar.

17:01 CET - Over 24 hours after it started, Taylor Fritz has won his match with Giovanni Mpethsi Perricard, fighting back from two down to win 6-7, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 6-4.

16:52 CET - The defending champion marches on, with Barbora Krejcikova fighting back from a set down to beat Alexandra Eala 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 in a battle that lasted for just over two hours.

16:39 CET - Yet another top player falls at the first hurdle! This time it's women's 15th seed Karolina Muchova, who has lost 7-5, 6-2 to Xinyu Wang.

16:20 CET - We've had our first major men's upset of the day, with seventh seed and 2024 semi-finalist Lorenzo Musetti losing 6-2, 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 to Nikoloz Basilashvili.

16:13 CET - World number one Jannik Sinner has kicked off his campaign with a convincing win, beating compatriot Luca Nardi 6-4, 6-3, 6-0.

16:00 CET - 19th seed Liudmila Samsonova has beaten last week's Eastbourne champion and rising star Maya Joint with a dominant 6-3, 6-2 victory to book her place in the second round.

15:22 CET - Miomir Kecmanovic has won a fifth-set tiebreak against talented young American Alex Michelsen after a thrilling encounter which lasted over three hours. 

Kecmanovic showed great resolve after an up-and-down encounter to win a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (10-6) classic. 

14:35 CET - After a rocky start to Wimbledon by most of the top seeds, Alex De Minaur has produced a business-like performance to stay out of the headlines. 

The Australian number one and 11th seed made light work of Roberto Baena to win in straight sets 6-2, 6-2, 7-6.

14:27 CET - Another upset on the women's side of the draw as world number 26 Marta Kostyuk let a one-set lead slide against qualifier Veronika Erjave, who won 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

14:17 CET - Clara Tauson has won for the first time at Wimbledon! The big-hitting Dane came from a set down against experienced British player Heather Watson to show great composure and win 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.

14:00 CET - The first match to finish on the men's side has seen 13th seed Tommy Paul make light work of British wildcard Johannus Monday by winning 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 in under two hours.

13:48 CET - Australian number one Daria Kasatkina is the next player through in the early matches on day two as she defeats Colombian Emiliana Arango 7-5, 6-3.

13:25 CET - 18th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova has avoided such an upset, however, showing her maturity and experience to ease past Australian qualifier Priscilla Hon 6-2, 7-5.

13:20 CET - The highest ranked player to exit Wimbledon 2025 is Jessica Pegula after the world number three was outclassed by Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto this morning.

Cocciaretto won in just under an hour to stun the third seed 6-2, 6-3 and book her place in the second round.

Upset of the tournament so far and such a shock after Pegula's impressive run to the Bad Homburg title last week.

The first major seed in action is the small matter of world number one Jannik Sinner, who kicks off play on court one against fellow Italian Luca Nardi from 14:00 CET.

First up on centre court is 2024 Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova against emerging star, who should be high on confidence after winning her first WTA title at Eastbourne last week. 

That is followed on centre court by Novak Djokovic, who faces a challenging first-round match against world number 41 Alexandre Muller.

Djokovic has won a remarkable seven Wimbledon titles, and whilst he isn't one of the favourites this year, you expect him to be difficult to beat given his experience, and he is still playing at a high level. 

Last but not least on centre court, French Open champion Coco Gauff take on world number 42 Dayana Yastremska in a fascinating clash to end the day.

Meanwhile, last up on court one is British number one and fourth seed Jack Draper, who carries the hopes of a nation on his shoulders after a breakthrough 12 months on tour.

Draper takes on talented Argentine Sebastian Baez in a potentially tricky first-round encounter.
