Clara Tauson on Thursday evening booked her ticket for a clash in the third round against Elena Rybakina, when she won 6-3, 7-6 against Russia's Anna Kalinskaya.

Clara Tauson is ready for the third round of Wimbledon after a straight-set victory over Russian Anna Kalinskaya.

Clara Tauson, who struggled to make an impact on grass last season, seemed increasingly comfortable on the fast surface at Wimbledon and never really allowed Kalinskaya to get into the game despite a late scare in the second set tiebreaker.

The 23rd-seeded Dane defeated Kalinskaya in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6.

Tauson played at a high level throughout the match, and the Dane did not make many mistakes. In addition, she produced ten aces and an extensive number of forehand winners.

In the first set, Kalinskaya, who is ranked 39th in the world, made a lot of unforced errors and failed to provide any kind of challenge for Tauson, who cruised through the set in comfortable style.

However, the Russian raised the level and forced the match into a tiebreak in the second set, saving three match points in the process.

Kalinskaya subsequently produced her best tennis in the tiebreaker, but it wasn't enough to deny Tauson a ticket to the third round of the tournament after the Dane converted her sixth match point.
