Moton has been with the Panthers since the team drafted him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Up until last year, Moton had not missed a single game in his eight years since being drafted, missing three games in 2024 with an elbow injury.
Moton allowed just one sack, two quarterback hits, and 14 pressures last season in 538 pass block snaps. His 80.6 pass-blocking grade was ranked 19th among 140 tackles. He finished the season with a 77.7 overall grade, his highest since 2020 (81.6).
Moton was called for only one penalty all of last season, a career-best as a starter.
Moton was emotional during training camp this season, thinking about not receiving an extension from the Panthers.
"I try not to think about it,” Moton said. "I have had some of my best years of my life in Carolina. The city, and being a Panther, means a lot to me. I obviously want the years to continue. But if it’s my last year here, I want it to be my best year, the offensive unit’s best year and the team’s best year. I will do whatever I can for it to be the best yet. I’m a little emotional about that.”
Moton originally signed a four-year, $71 million extension following the franchise tag back in 2021. Now, he remains in Carolina just a little longer.
