FIFA World Cup 2026
The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11th to July 19th in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The tournament will feature 48 national teams and will be played in 16 modern stadiums.

22:14 BST - Supersubs Johan Manzambi and Rubén Vargas shared three goals in the final 16 minutes to help Switzerland beat 10-man Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1, as Murat Yakin’s men moved into the driving seat to qualify from Group B for the last-32 of the FIFA World Cup (WC).

13:15 BST - Ghana secured a narrow 1-0 win over Panama last night, with the two nations' managers reacting differently after the game.
Carlos Quiroz, of Ghana, was confident after his side's victory. Panama boss Thomas Christiansen was left disappointed after the 'cruel' way in which his team lost the game.

12:44 BST - Croatia manager Zlatko Dalic was not impressed with his side's result against England, and admitted there was no more room for error for the Vatreni in their remaining games.
"We must prepare quite well for the next two games in the first stage. It's very important for us to be at the right level after this defeat. We do not have the right to any more mistakes.
"We do not have the right to bad matches or mistakes. I wouldn't say that this was a bad match. There were some errors we committed, some mistakes we made. We were punished by our opponent. Two matches are ahead of us, new beginnings."

11:48 BST - Bellingham also got on the scoresheet and has expressed how it felt good to remind supporters how good he can be.
"I know it's part of being a footballer, I don't hold a grudge about anyone that says bad things about me because sometimes I do deserve it," he said.
"Today I think it was nice to try and show people and remind people what I'm about."

11:28 BST - Kane has also now scored the most penalties in World Cup history - after he bagged the fifth of his career in England's win last night.

11:15 BST - Speaking of Kane, the striker equalled Gary Lineker's record for the most goals scored at a World Cup for England (10).

11:08 BST - Moving on to England now, who defeated Croatia 4-2 after goals from Harry Kane (x2), Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford.
The Three Lions were level at half-time after a lacklustre display, but Kane credited Thomas Tuchel with an inspiring team talk to turn things around.
"He gave a great speech to be honest, especially the way we conceded that second goal just before half-time," Kane said.
"He just told us to let the shackles off, calm down, what are we scared of? Let's just go."

09:50 BST - Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo also came under criticism for his role - or lack of a role - in yesterday's match.
The striker managed just 25 touches, his fewest in a major tournament game where he played 90 minutes.

09:45 BST - Time for some more reaction from yesterday's games, with Portugal manager Roberto Martinez insisting his side must improve after drawing 1-1 with DR Congo.
"We do have to improve. We have to be very self-critical," Martinez said.
"Our responsibility here, I think is to assess this match, be self-critical and that's the bottom line ... the World Cup is like that. We continue our work."
