Liverpool welcome Forest to Anfield to mark the end of the international break and the start of a pivotal period for manager Arne Slot, who must start to turn his team around if he wants to remain in the title race.
The Premier League champions are currently 8th, behind rivals Manchester United, in what is a dramatic fall from grace. However, ahead of the Forest game, Slot has been handed a huge gift.
Alisson has been out since September 30th with a hamstring injury, handing summer signing Giorgi Mamardashvili his first run of matches in front of supporters who have been impressed so far.
Slot confirmed his return ahead of the trip to the Etihad to face Manchester City:
"Alisson for sure. And I expect Jeremie (Frimpong) back after the international break as well because we play from November until March.
"But I don’t expect Jeremie to be fully fit for Forest. But with Alisson, we expect this, yes."
The Standard reports that Alisson is expected to take part in full first-team training in the next few days and will attempt to win his place back under Slot, who will be keen to introduce him back into the first team.
The Reds went into the final international break of the year on the back of a crushing 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.
A win is imperative against Forest, especially in front of the home fans, who will be desperate to breathe life back into the side who have been underwhelming so far.
