Marcus Rashford has opened up about his time at Manchester United, revealing the one manager he “loved playing under” and describing him as a “fantastic person.”

Rashford, 27, publicly stated he wanted a ‘new challenge’ after falling out of favour under current Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim last season.

The forward was then shipped out on loan to Aston Villa, and has since secured a loan move to Barcelona over the summer, with the club having a £30 million option to buy at the end of the season.

It wasn’t always like this between Rashford and United, however, as the England international revealed which former manager he "loved playing under."

Rashford told Norwegian outlet TV2 of his time working with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: "Ole is a fantastic person. I loved playing under him.

"I can speak for many of the players at Manchester United when I say that we enjoyed playing for him. We played good football under Ole.

"It was a very successful period for me personally. He is a fantastic person, and I don’t have a bad word to say about him."

Rashford had arguably the best season of his career under Solskjaer in 2020/21, scoring 21 goals and providing 12 assists in his 57 games across all competitions.
