Manchester United have been handed a major boost as Matheus Cunha’s injury update brings positive news ahead of their crucial Manchester derby showdown.

The 26-year-old had to be replaced by Joshua Zirkzee in the 31st minute of Manchester United’s 3-2 Premier League win over Burnley on matchday three due to an apparent hamstring injury.

According to The Sun, under pressure manager Ruben Amorim can breathe a huge sigh of relief with scans suggesting the injury isn’t as bad as first feared.

There is now a belief within the camp that Cunha will be fit for their crucial Manchester derby with rivals Manchester City after the international break.

United currently sit above Pep Guardiola’s side in the Premier League table by a point, with City losing two and winning just one of their opening three games.
