With the transfer window now closed, Galatasaray went into their away trip to Rizespor on Sunday with all five of their new signings - Noa Lang, Yaser Asprilla, Renato Nhaga, Can Armando Guner and the returning Sacha Boey - in the squad.
Lang started his second game in a row for the three-time defending champions since moving from Napoli, while the others were only ready for the bench.
The Dutchman, who looked sharp on his debut last week, put in a superb display for Galatasaray, as they eased to a 3-0 victory.
A constant threat with his technical ability, confidence and panache, he put in a wonderful ball for Baris Alper Yilmaz's opener, while his excellent run and pass was key for Victor Osimhen, who scored the third of the game.
Sandwiched in between, Yunus Akgun headed home brilliantly from Baris' cross, while a special mention has to go to goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.
Ugurcan, signed from Trabzonspor for an initially eyebrow-raising €33 million fee, has filled the void of legendary keeper Fernando Muslera immaculately.
He made several key saves during the game, just as he has all season, and his ability with the ball at his feet has been vital.
Meanwhile, Boey came off the bench to make his second debut for Galatasaray. The Frenchman had an exceptional first stint in Istanbul before leaving for Bayern Munich in January 2024. However, after falling down the pecking order at the Bavarians, he returned on loan two years later.
Without signing many big-name players, the window has been a solid one for Galatasaray, as they have added much-needed strength in depth, which had been a major issue.
They look in a good position ahead of an important few months, domestically and in the Champions League.
Fenerbahce were in action the following day, with World Cup and Champions League winner N'Golo Kante making his debut for the club after signing from Al Ittihad.
In truth, the Frenchman looked off the pace and didn't make much of an impact during their 3-1 win over Genclerbirligi, and was taken off after 62 minutes. However, this shouldn't be too much of a surprise.
The signing was greeted with huge celebrations from Fenerbahce fans, but it is important to remember that he turns 35 years old next month and is nowhere near the player he once was.
He will need a bit of time to acclimate and get up to speed, and when he does, there is no guarantee that he will be that impactful. Of course, he is a big name, so excitement is somewhat understandable, but expectations need to be tempered.
On the game itself, it was straightforward for Fener, with Kerem Akturkoglu bagging a brace and Anderson Talisca scoring from the penalty spot in the first half, before Sekou Koita pulled one back in the second half after an Ederson error.
It was important for Kerem to get on the scoresheet, as he has really struggled since joining from Benfica for €24 million in the summer. He is quite an inconsistent player overall, but before the game, he hadn't scored in the league since November, showing just how out of form he has been.
They will need a lot more from him, especially with the next game being a huge clash away at Trabzonspor, who sit just four points behind them. There is a lot on the line for both teams.
Paul Onuachu, the goal machine
Paul Onuachu remains an absolute goal machine in Turkey. The Trabzonspor striker bagged a brace in their fantastic 3-0 win at Samsunspor, scoring a pair of classic Onuachu goals, gobbling up opportunities in and around the six-yard box.
Standing at 6 feet 7 inches, defenders in the Super Lig struggle to deal with his height and physicality. He leads the top-scorer standings this season alongside Istanbul Basaksehir's Uzbekistan striker Eldor Shomurodov, who is having the best goalscoring season of his career.
Both players have 15 goals, but Onuachu has done it in three fewer games (18).

This isn't Onuachu's first stint in the Super Lig, either. During a loan spell at Trabzon in the 2023/24 campaign, he scored 15 goals in 21 appearances, bringing his total to 30 goals in 39 appearances.
There is more than just one good Nigerian striker in the Super Lig, it seems!

Team of the Week

Fenerbahce's Kerem and Istanbul Basaksehir's Abbosbek Fayzullaev are the Flashscore Players of the Week, according to our very own internal ratings system. The former shone in his team's triumph, while the latter registered an assist and was a real livewire throughout his side's 2-1 win at Eyupspor.
Galatasaray trio Baris - who is the leading assist maker in Turkey this season with eight assists - Yunus and Davinson Sanchez all make the starting XI, while Trabzonspor's Arseniy Batagov and Ernest Muci find spots in the team.
