FC Midtjylland's Guinea-Bissau international striker, Franculino Dju, today returned to action for the first time since getting injured in a Danish Superliga-match against Viborg in December last year.

Franculino had air for 30 minutes, when he returned to action for the first time on Tuesday since his lengthy injury break in a friendly against Silkeborg, and afterwards, coach Mike Tullberg was impressed.

"Francu was back for half an hour after four months, and that was great. It was also great to see his condition. Of course, he is not where he was before he was injured, but he was still further along than I had thought. He was involved in two or three chances, so I was really pleased", said Mike Tullberg after the match to bold.dk

So far, he has played 72 matches in the Danish Superliga for FC Midtjylland since arriving in the summer of 2023. He has scored 38 times in the top Danish league. And he wants to score even more goals this season.

"I always want to score goals, and I want to score 100 goals. I'll save the goals for Saturday. That is, if I get 45 minutes," he said to TV2 Sport after the game.

Franculino is expected to be on the bench when FC Midtjylland takes on Sonderjyske on Saturday in a crucial match in their two-horse race with AGF for the Danish title.
