The St. Louis Blues signed defenceman Cam Fowler to a three-year, $18.3 million contract extension on Saturday.

Fowler is coming off a season where he set the franchise record for points in a single playoff series - 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in seven games against the Winnipeg Jets

The 33-year-old posted nine goals and 27 assists in 51 regular-season games last season.

He was traded from the Anaheim Ducks after posting just four assists and no goals through 17 games, despite posting almost the same ice time (21:04) that he did in St. Louis (21:42), where he thrived.

Fowler spent all of his 13 years with the Ducks before being traded in December last season. The team drafted him 12th overall in the 2010 NHL Draft and has since put up 105 goals and 388 assists in 1,042 career games.

Now, he'll be entering his 15th season with a few more to go with the new contract extension.

The St. Louis Blues' season starts on October 9th against the Minnesota Wild.
